5/3/2013, Press Release protesting for the appointment of the Council of Ministers
The Board of EKIF, at its monthly regular meeting on 5 March 2013, decided to issue a Press Release strongly protesting against the appointment of only men to the Council of Ministers of the new Government. EKIF expressed its disappointment that no woman was appointed, thus having deprived 51% of the population of the island of their democratic right to participate in the government of their own country. EKIF called upon the President of the Cyprus Republic and the coalition parties to observe the principle of gender equality in future political appointments

21/2/2013, Conference on Poverty and Inequality in Societies of Human rights
The President of EKIF was invited by the Council of Europe and participated in the Conference on Poverty and Inequality in Societies of Human rights: the paradox of democracies, held at the Council of Europe’s Palais de l’Europe in Strasbourg on 21-22 February 2013.
